Information for students

You can apply if you:

• fulfil the admission requirements necessary for the degree program and are about to begin your studies at the Evangelischen Hochschule Berlin (Protestant University of Applied Sciences Berlin) or are already enrolled.
• in addition to the academic achievements to date and your previous individual and, if applicable, professional career, social and/or ecclesiastical commitment, the willingness to take on responsibility as well as special social or personal circumstances resulting, for example, from your family background are also taken into account when selecting stipend holders.
• sponsorship is excluded if the student already receives a talent- and performance-based material sponsorship pursuant to section §§ 1 paragraphs 3 or 4, paragraph 1 p. 1 of the Gesetz zur Schaffung eines nationalen Stipendienprogrammes (StipG – Act for the Creation of a National Stipend Program) dated 21 July 2010, as amended and in the currently valid version; unless this stipend is less than a monthly average payment of 30 euros.

The individual stipends are awarded to the respective students, amounting to 300 euros per month and initially, as a rule, for two semesters.

The following documents must be enclosed with the application:

• the current application form
• CV in tabular format
• a letter of motivation (explanation of the student’s motives as well as social, church and community involvement; if applicable, indication of scholarship focus)
• length: max. 1 page, up to 3,000 characters, including spaces; please state your name on the letter of motivation
• certificate of university enrolment (if already available at the time of application)
• proof of achievement of the higher education entrance qualification
• last available records transcript of ECTS credit points and grades completed to date
• other documents that substantiate the information provided in the application

Payment of the scholarship requires that the scholarship holder is enrolled at the Evangelische Hochschule Berlin.

The Rectorate decides whom a stipend is awarded to. A selection committee prepares the decision of the rectorate. The stipend holders are informed in writing about the awarding of the scholarship. Further details are regulated by the statutes of the Evangelische Hochschule Berlin for the awarding of Deutschlandstipendien. The statutes of June 20th, 2011, last

amended on 28th of May 2021, stipulate the criteria for awarding a stipend in a binding manner. There is no legal entitlement for the granting of a stipend.

The Deutschlandstipendium at the eh bis tendered on an annual basis for the summer semester. The applications have to be handed in in written form to the officer responsible for the Deutschlandstipendium.
